Outlet Casarecce, 450g Italian Ingredients|Pasta, Rice & Beans

Casarecce is a twisted pasta shape that originated in Sicily. The twists and grooves trap sauces like pesto and ragu. Cook it al dente, as they would in Italy.

Made from British spelt, this pasta has a wholesome taste and texture. You can use it in pasta bakes or simply toss it with your favourite sauce. The shape works well with nutty pestos and meaty ragus.

Embrace its Sicilian origin and use casarecce to makepasta alla Norma. This popular dish pairs fried aubergine with a rich tomato sauce. Top with basil and ricotta salata for a satisfying meat-free meal.

Northern Pasta Co. uses bronze dies to extrude their pasta. This is a traditional technique that gives the pasta its rough texture. It helps sauces to cling so that every mouthful is full of flavour.

Store in a cool and dry place.
