José Gourmet codfish in ragout sauce is a delicious ready-to-eat meal. The fish is salted, dried and preserved in a sweet tomato sauce.

Keep a tin in your cupboard for days when you don’t feel like cooking. The flavours are inspired by traditional Portuguese stews. José Gourmet flavours the ragout with tomatoes, garlic, onion and peppers. It’s a satisfying sauce for succulent, flaky cod.

To serve, heat the stew on your hob and spoon over rice or pasta. Add a sprinkle of parsley and a drizzle of olive oil, if you like. You can also serve it with crusty bread and a glass of white wine. It’s the ultimate no-fuss supper.
