Concentrated tamarind adds a sour note to Pad Thai and seafood curries. You can use it as a glaze for meat or making homemade barbecue sauce.

Tamarind is a popular ingredient in Southeast Asian, Caribbean, Mexican and Middle Eastern cuisine. It’s extremely versatile, adding sweet-sour flavour to drinks, desserts and chutneys.

Use tamarind in marinades for ribs, wings and steaks. The acidity will flavour and tenderise the meat. Tamarind is often used to add tang to curries made with coconut milk.
