Best Fabrica Madeira Sugarcane Honey Cake, 450g Ingredients Brands|Chocolate & Sweets

This Fábrica Santo António bolo de mel de cana (madeira sugar cane honey cake) is a delicacy of the Mediterranean island. This sticky and spicy cake is rich with sugarcane honey, nuts and dried fruit.

Traditionally, Madeira honey cake is made at Christmas, in large enough quantities to be enjoyed over the next year – it’s a cake that gets better with age.

Do like they do in Madeira and break off pieces of the cake by hand to enjoy at coffee hour or as a post-dinner snack.

At Sous Chef we love how more-ish it is, and the complex spice flavours. Delicious!
