Sale Calissons from Aix, 160g Ingredients Brands|French Ingredients

Maison Bremond’s calissons are a traditional sweet treat from Aix-en-Provence in the south of France. Often given as a gift, these pretty petal-shaped candies are a Provençal speciality that has been enjoyed for hundreds of years. Presented in a diamond-shaped box, these fruity calissons are a lovely gift for a friend or dinner party host.

Maison Bremond’s calissons recipe has remained the same since 1830: a soft, golden mixture of candied melons and crushed Provençal almonds on a thin wafer base. Each candy is then topped with a thin layer of royal icing which gives them a sweet, crunchy coating. Serve them after dinner with coffee or enjoy with a mid-morning cup of tea.
