Outlet Heigen Matcha Tea Bowl, 9.8cm Japanese Ingredients|Japanese Tableware

Use the heigen matcha tea bowl to conduct a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. The stunning slate-grey bowl is decorated with pale blue crackle glaze and a stripe of glossy ochre-yellow and green, giving the finished piece a look reminiscent of a stretch of moorland. The textured base of the bowl helps you grip it as you drink. The heigen matcha tea bowl is designed to fit a matcha tea whisk, so you can whisk the tea directly in the bowl.

In a Japanese tea ceremony, matcha tea is prepared in bowls like this one and served to guests in a graceful, carefully choreographed ritual. The heigen matcha tea bowl is just the right size for conducting a tea ceremony for one or two guests, or for serving ‘thin tea’ to each guest after the formal part of the main ceremony.

For a truly authentic experience, conduct your tea ceremony with a matcha tea whisk to perfectly froth your tea, and traditional wasanbon sugar blossoms to balance the earthy tones of matcha.

Please note that each piece is individually made, hence minor variations in colour, pattern and texture may occur from that shown in the photo. Microwave and dishwasher safe.
