Hot Spun Iron Croustade Iron Pots & Pans

Netherton Foundry’s spun iron croustade iron is the perfect way to make deep-fried canapé shells. Croustade irons have been used for decades in Scandinavia to make sweet and savoury batter shells. This traditional Scandi utensil has grown in popularity with chefs across the UK who are using it to create modern twists on classic canapés.

The croustade iron is carefully crafted from a mix of materials. The small aluminium knob – which you coat in batter –is hand-polished to ensure each shell releases with ease. A black iron handle is long and flat to protect you from the hot oil. It comes pre-seasoned with flax oil that makes it easy to clean. The final part of the croustade iron is a British oak handle cover. This makes the croustade iron comfortable to hold and elegant to look at.

About Netherton Foundry

The Netherton Foundry is a family company based in Shropshire – home of the 18th and 19th century ironmasters. Their pans are made from 99.1% pure iron and they use locally sourced materials wherever possible – the oak that makes the pan handles is British, and the flax seasoning oil comes from Sussex. Experienced local craftsmen use traditional manufacturing methods to bring you high quality cookware that gets better over time.
